Meet our new staff members, Desmend and Rachel

Desmend Jetton, Lead Teaching Fellow: Desmend has worked as a software engineer for over 6 years, at companies including Nordstrom and Vivid Seats. He also co-founded an AI enterprise startup called Octave-X. Earlier in his career, he was a City Year Corps Member and AmeriCorps Vista volunteer. We are thrilled to have him on the team!

Rachel Jules, Program Director: Originally from Boston, Rachel has over nine years of experience in educational leadership, human services, and program management. With degrees in Management & Logistics and Psychology, she has led partnerships for an education startup and run an emergency shelter serving over 200 residents. She’s excited to support our talented adult learners as they grow!

 

Specialization Panel guests share their path into software


At our recent Specialization Panel, three talented engineers brought inspiration and insights to our 2026 Cohort, and answered student questions. Bryanna Lawton, Tatiana Walton, and Briana Bradshaw shared their journeys as software engineers, offering perspectives on modern web development and meaningful career growth. We are grateful to all our panelists!
